𝑃𝑖𝑔𝑠 𝑜𝑛 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑊𝑖𝑛𝑔 features 𝐏𝐢𝐧𝐤 𝐅𝐥𝐨𝐲𝐝'𝐬 tenth studio album, 𝐴𝑛𝑖𝑚𝑎𝑙𝑠, in celebration of its 50th anniversary. Inspired by George Orwell’s 𝐴𝑛𝑖𝑚𝑎𝑙 𝐹𝑎𝑟𝑚, the album reached #2 in the UK and #3 in the US, seeing 𝐏𝐢𝐧𝐤 𝐅𝐥𝐨𝐲𝐝 overtake ABBA for the most weeks on the UK Albums Chart. Driven by visceral and cutting social commentary with no room for pleasantries, 𝐴𝑛𝑖𝑚𝑎𝑙𝑠 is a masterpiece in sonic experimentation. Featuring some of David Gilmour’s finest ever guitar work, synthesisers, guitars and vocals transformed by a rotary speaker, vocoder or talk box, it foreshadows the theatrical menace of the band’s next outing: 𝑇ℎ𝑒 𝑊𝑎𝑙𝑙.
